Greenshields Resources Ltd., Ecuador

Greenshield Resources Ltd. operates a property in the southern part of Ecuador with potential for epithermal precious metal type mineralization.  I spent two weeks at the site completing a property-scale map and economic assessment.

The geology is very well exposed and consists of a young Plinean eruptive sequence composed of basalt and andesite flows at the base, overlain by dacitic ignimbrites, block & ash falls and surge deposits all overlying a metamorphic basement.  The volcanics are cut by younger juvenile fluvial channels.  The property contains a number of placer gold and kaoline (china clay) operations.
