Committee Bay Resources Ltd. Nunavut |
|
The Committee Bay Belt is owned and operated by Committee Bay Resources Ltd. I’ve spent a couple of seasons exploring for gold, mostly in iron formation, at the property. Most of my work consisted of mapping and prospecting, but also included running a fly camp in the north part of the belt, writing reports, planning drillholes and ground geophysics. The Committee Bay Belt is a geologically complex area, however, most of the gold showings are related to sulphidized iron formation and to a lesser extent, shear zones in mafic-ultramafic rocks. Silicate iron formation is key, particularly when replaced by Ca-amphiboles and pyrrhotite. Additional showings are related to late pegmatite activity and quartz-arsenopyrite veining. |
